I became interested in clothes when I was in junior high school, and went on to study fashion at an art university in order to become a fashion designer.
I had a jewelry class as part of my fashion course, and it was there that I first became aware of the appeal of jewelry.
Through this, I realized that once you get your hands on jewelry, you want to wear it forever, and that jewelry is a better way to express what I want to do, so I began to create jewelry pieces that reflected my various thoughts.
Until then, I had been creating jewelry as art pieces, but my desire to share jewelry with more people grew stronger, so I started working on it as a brand.
First, I started working on my own brand to learn, and then I launched MESS JEWELRY & GRAPHIC.
We believe that jewelry can have an impact not only on appearance but also on the inner self, so we have made the core of our brand the inner concept of "thinking about things based on your own values, without being bound by the values of the world."
I also chose the word MESS for the brand name, which means "messy room," because I believe that giving shape to the messy ideas in one's head is at the heart of jewelry creation.
Through her work with MESS, she has become attracted to the power of words, and she incorporates her poetic thoughts into her jewelry and other pieces.
Nagai Kaori / Graphic Designer
Graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design, Department of Spatial Design, Fashion Design Course, Jewelry Design Major Graduated from Kyoto University of Art and Design, Master's Program Works as a jewelry brand muteparade Currently works as a graphic designer for an advertising agency and MESS JEWELRY & GRAPHIC
I've loved drawing since I was in elementary school, and I attended art classes.
I learned the word "designer" when I was young, and from that time on, I dreamed of working as a designer, creating things.
To make that dream come true, I enrolled in the art department at high school and studied drawing and oil painting in earnest, pursuing a curriculum aimed at getting into a national or public art university.
Rather than making painting my profession, I believed that in order to become a designer I needed to gain a proper art education, so I worked on daily challenges to make that dream come true.
I wanted to start a brand as a designer, and I began to dream of creating a brand in the fashion field that I had always loved.
I then went on to study fashion at an art university, where I discovered jewelry.
Jewelry comes into direct contact with people's skin and is worn like a talisman at all times.
I was attracted to the possibility that jewelry could reach the places closest to people, and I began to want to create jewelry as a brand.
After that, I went on to graduate school and launched the jewelry brand "muteparade," which I carried out limited-time brand activities.
While working on the brand, I began to wonder if it was really possible for me to deliver jewelry to my customers, even though the customers who actually purchase my jewelry work in society and deal with various stresses every day, and yet I have never worked in society.
I thought that I should first get to know society and understand its feelings, so after graduating from graduate school, I used my experience in producing graphic media such as catalogs, direct mail, and websites for brand exhibitions to join an advertising agency.
Currently working as a graphic designer for an advertising agency and MESS JEWELRY & GRAPHIC, he is primarily focused on graphic design, but is also responsible for the production of some jewelry.
